When I used to go out clubbing a while back ;) on of the best scratch DJ’s at the time was DJ Mek. Some of his sets were as legendary as they were controversial.

Anyway enough reminiscing. The reason for this post is because he’s started a blog http://djmek.wordpress.com/

Definitely worth checking out from time to time. Here is a sample of his work, Press the orange button to play…

We are spending most of our waking life in front a screen these days, from using computers for work to watching television for entertainment. So it’s easy to see how people are getting weary of seeing the same things on different websites. If you own a website, you need to look at other means of keeping people on your website and turn the browsers into buyers. You need to be able to offer some interactivity on your site to stand out from the crowd.

1. A video can help showcase your business and the products and services that you offer in the best possible light. Video is rapidly becoming the primary way of conveying messages on the internet. People tend not to read any more than bite sized chunks online so a GOOD video can prove to be much more effective way to grab a persons attention.

2. You can use a video to demonstrate how to use a product effectively or tutorials to guide your customers through a variety of processes.

3. Adds a human touch to your website. Computers are impersonal things really, so as a business owner you should look any opportunity that humanises your website and adds a personality.

4. Portray products in a real world setting, showing your potential customers how these things can be used in their actual setting.

5. To conduct interviews with your customers to let them outline how your company/product/service have helped them. Much more effective than just a quote on a page as you can see the face and the honesty.

6. To expand the content on your website. By simply adding more and more content and keeping your site updated is one surefire way of keeping your website high on search engine rankings.

7. To create a buzz about your business. An effective video can create a lot of publicity in a way not previously seen. Viral videos are hard to create but if you hit the right notes, regular people would be happy to promote your business just because they like your video.
