We’ve been working really hard on our latest project, a music video for The Kybosh’s song ‘Out of the Shadows, Into the Sun’.

Our first shoot today was out near the seaside in Shankill, Co.Dublin. Here’s a few of the production stills from our day out, I think this is going to one good video :-)

The Kybosh have written a bit about it here.

Recession or not, County Offaly is proving that it is dedicated to Irish film production. FilmOffaly in association with Filmbase are proudly announcing the FilmOffaly Award of 2010. They are looking for unique, original stories from new filmmakers. Novices or professionals. The doors are open to any genre, style, topic or perspective; bring on the shorts, features, and documentaries. The only stipulation is that the filming must take place in Offaly.

The stakes are high. The lone winner will receive €8,000 towards the cost of production, a premier in Tullamore Omniplex Cinema, one year’s Filmbase membership for the writer, producer and director of the winning film, a fifty-percent discount on production equipment and/or editing facilities from Filmbase for the project, and Filmbase’s production insurance to cover the shoot. Basically, your film on a silver platter.

How can I get a chance at this amazing opportunity? I’m glad you asked. Fill out the FilmOffaly 2010 Application Form (found on the website), post it along with three copies of your script and a 500-word synopsis of the film project, and then cuddle up and sweet talk lady luck. The submissions will be judged on its merits regarding the quality of material along with interviews and re-writes by the applicant.

Submissions should be sent by 3pm on Friday 14th May 2010 to:

FilmOffaly Award
Arts Office
Offaly County Council
Tullamore
Co. Offaly

So, let’s recap…

Three copies of your script, a 500-word synopsis, and the FilmOfally Award Application sent to the FilmOffaly Council by Friday 14th May, 2010 could be your golden ticket to success. Good luck and may the best script win.

It’s on in the Clarion hotel, IFSC on the 22nd of April and there’s a interesting schedule lined up. Might be worth a look? (more…)
